Identify the version
A shared name does not guarantee identical rules. Ask the host or publisher for the exact instructions used by that room.
Make a checklist
Record the cards available, joker rules if any, hand order, turn sequence and conditions for comparing hands. Keep the checklist alongside your learning notes.
Change one thing at a time
Learn the ordinary card categories before moving to a modified format. Work through an open-card example that shows how the specific change affects a comparison.
Do not mix formats
Keep notes for different variants separate. If an example is unclear, return to the current room’s rules rather than importing instructions from another app.
